Well our u14 Eagle side have had a very successful season. Having qualified for South West regional league last year they secured their place in division 2. This team had only been playing together for 5 months at this time and so it took a few matches and games to get into the rhythm of playing indoor netball. A couple of close losses were hard to take. Things were not quite clicking! Then the last game before Christmas suddenly all the hard work began to pay off. the girls pulled off a great victory and to be honest coming out of the Christmas break they began to get on a roll. Another close loss to the top team in the table didn't change anything. It made qualification simple... Win every game! So that's what this team did, they went undefeated in regional league for the remainder of the season and played with a cohesion and togetherness not seen before. Some matches they ran their opponents into the ground by their tireless work for each other. At the end of the season 2nd place meant a trip to finals day to play against 3 other teams.
Knowing all games were going to be extremely close, the girls gave everything in the first match narrowly losing to Poole. The effort cost them in the second and they couldnt quite find their rhythm and flow losing to Hucclecote. However a rally came when unfortunately our center was unable to play due to illness and the girls all stepped up and went to another level. They pulled of a masterful win.
We then finished tied with Poole but due to Goal difference slipped down into 4th place, however the smiles on the faces never dropped and the girls showed the true meaning of our club ethos "Dream Big, Aim High, Fly far"
They certainly did the club proud and we look forward to more things from them in the future!
