4 years in the making

4 years ago, 6 people got together to discuss a dream. Allowing players to achieve their own dreams, to fulfil their netball potential and do so in a fun friendly environment. After that meeting, Dorset All Stars was born, Although 2 of those original members have left, and 2 have stepped back, the club has grown exponentially over those 4 years. It started with Covid, and training with 6 people only, to moving to QE with a squad of 10. Onwards the club went expanding and increasing numbers in other age groups. The end goal of getting a team into Regional South west. Our first close call came with Covid. We were in, then covid closed the season. our second attempt fell at the last hurdle when we couldnt secure enough players to guarantee we could fulfil all the fixtures. Onwards we went, Suddenly we were up to 80 players training and playing games.
Then in July 2023 we qualified for regional again and this time we were doing it. The season has been amazing and I know the rest of the club has been inspired to raise their sights and dream big. The main committee may have changed personnel but with our common goal of dream big, Aim high, Fly far this netball club has gone along way in a short space of time. The coaches have plans to keep that journey going and so we are all looking forward to what the future holds. Help is always needed and to be honest some of the good things club has done have not been on a netball court. Presentation nights, in various locations. Club trips to netball. Travelling out of county to huge festivals. Making friends with other clubs and forming links to allow more netball.
We have had some tough times too, losing QE as a home base due to the sub standard courts, losing fellow coaches, and committee members and of course the English wet weather. However we are still here, we are still competing and we aim to continue to do so. We have players who have now made satellite squads last year and next year we have representation in the County squad, with hopefully more to come in the satellite squads.

I am proud to be Head coach of this great club and I live and breathe it every day. Yes it frustrates me, yes it gets me down, but all those feelings fade once I am on court working with the girls and pushing our abilities. So, here is a throwback to all those things we have done and achieved over the last few years. Thanks for all the support
